      9% of the students surveyed select friends or school-mates as their ideal listeners when they have trouble while another 33% tend to seek advice from teachers and parents. Nevertheless, there are also 58% who don't share their troubles at all and prefer to work on themselves.

Personally speaking, I feel it’s quite natural to use these three ways to deal with personal affairs, but what surprises me most is the proportion each part takes. My first reaction to the survey results is “shock”. It seems rather common for the students nowadays to choose to keep their mouths shut rather than to turn to someone else when in trouble. Is it so hard for them to place trust in others? After having a second thought, I realize that we teenagers may be more independent, thoughtful and strong-minded than our parents and teachers expect us to be, as we have easy access to the online information we need—either by a computer or a mobile phone—to handle our worry properly in daily life.
