The Confucius Temple, a place for people to offer sacrifices to Confucius in, is one of the world’s cultural heritages. It lies in Qufu City, Shandong Province and covers an area of 327.5 mu. There are 466 buildings and 9 courtyards, of which Dacheng Hall is the main one where the memorial ceremony for Confucius was often held. In it are also preserved many ancient works with high artistic value. They contain information on ancient Chinese culture and art. Besides, if we are lucky, we can see some activities in honor of Confucius.

One thing worth mentioning is that the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games torch relay started in front of Dacheng Hall.
