Tech-Camp
6 Devon Road, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong a technology day camp for students 12-17.
About Tech-Camp
Tech-Camp is a day camp with a focus on computers and electronic technology. We offer 2-week summer programmes for students of 12-17 years of age. We have a computer lab with the latest and fastest equipment, an electronics lab and a video production studio. Our staff is special, too. Our programme leaders are experts in computer and electronics, of course, but they are also people who care about children and enjoy working with them.
The Benefits of Tech-Camp
In all of our programmes, we show students how to work in teams and how to solve problems by themselves. We encourage them to think creatively(有創(chuàng)造性地).
What students will do at Tech-Camp
Each day Tech-camp is filled with useful, interesting and challenging activities. For example, in the Computer Programme, students lean the basic computer programming, and how to use the Internet. In the Tech-Camp Programme, they make radio-controlled model cars and produce their own short videos.

科目:高中英語 來源: 題型:閱讀理解

Are you a team person? Are you at your best as part of a small ,tightly united group of devoted workers? If so ,the future may hold more for you than you think.

High technology, some said, would make teamwork a thing of the past. That’s happening in those areas of business and data processing where one person and a computer can replace a team of workers.

But, elsewhere, teamwork is very much alive. High technology has led to a new type of teamwork in a number of fields, including advertising, scientific research, engineering design, and ocean exploration.

Through computer networking, scientists, engineers, and technicians at different places—often thousands of miles apart—can work on the same project at once. They can exchange ideas, try out different designs, and test their results.

Examples? An engineering team can now design and try out a robot system, a new manufacturing process, or an entire factory—before it is built. A medical team can simulate(模擬)a dangerous operation before performing it on the patient.

Of course, computer-aided team effort doesn’t end with investigation(探究)and simulation. It now usually continues into actual design ,manufacturing, and testing. “CAD-CAM, computer-aided design and manufacture, is breaking down barriers between traditional designed manufacturing functions,” explains Dr.Prakash Rao, an engineering manager at General Electric. “Interdisciplinary(跨學(xué)科的)teams and engineers follow a product from concept(觀念) to production. Everything is interconnected like a network.”

Sometimes, a computer-aided effort can extend beyond production. A team that produces robots may use them to explore space and ocean depths. For high-technology teamwork, the future seems limitless.

3.The underlined word “barrier” in Paragraph 6 means “       ”.

       A.connection          B.balance                C.disadvantage        D.block

4.The author’s attitude towards the introduction of the computer to teamwork is      .

       A.doubtful           B.serious                    C.supportive               D.disagreeable
