Last month, we took Jack, an American exchange student who fell ill to a traditional Chinese doctor, which turned out to be an eye-widening experience for him.

It was in a math class that I noticed Jack coughing with a runny nose. Everyone looked at him with concern. Seeing this, one classmate and I offered to take him to the TCM department. He hesitated but followed. At the clinic, the doctor first looked at Jack for a while before feeling his pulse and checking his tongue. But after a week, when he recovered, he felt amazed at the effect of the Chinese medicine. At a class meeting about the deepest impressions about China, Jack chose “TCM in My Eyes” as the topic. He shared his experience of TCM, from doubt at first to belief in the end.

We all felt inspired and proud hearing a foreigner introducing the profound TCM. I have every reason to believe that with more and more international communication, TCM will be accepted globally and benefit more people in the future.
