What the dogs find provides scientists with data about a species． Scientists can use the DNA collected from animal waste to identify individuals, sex, and population sizes — all without ever seeing the animal itself． “It can take years to gather this kind of information if you have to trap animals,” Hurt explains．

Waste analysis might make a huge difference when wild species are accused of attacking domestic livestock （家畜）． Hurt says, “A good detection dog will find the waste so we can see what the animal is actually eating．” This may help reduce problems between people and wildlife．

What will man be like in the future? We can only make a guess, but we can be sure that he will be different from what he is today.

In the modern world we use our brains a great deal. Even so, we still make use of only about 20% of the brain’s capacity. This is likely to bring about a physical change too the head, in particular the forehead, will grow larger.

But what about hair? It will probably disappear from the body altogether in the course of time because it does not serve a useful purpose any longer. In the future, both sexes are likely to be bald（禿的）.

Perhaps all these give the impression that future man will not be attractive creature to look at! This may well be true. All the same, future man will still have a lot in common with us. He will still be a human being, with thoughts and emotions similar to our own.
