   We nowadays live in a global village, and many difficulties will arise if we can't express ourselves
fluently in English.
   In spite of my awareness of its importance, I seldom find chances to practice and improve my oral
English. So, I am still very weak with regard to this respect. One reason is that my pronunciation and
intonation aren't good enough. The other is that I am so shy that I am always too nervous to find the
exact words to express my ideas and feelings. As a result the best way for me to do is to remain silent
when others are practicing and making great progress in their oral English every day.
   Now I am attaching much more importance to oral English and I have made up my mind to seize
every opportunity to practice. I begin to participate actively in all kinds of English activities, such as
going to “English Corners”， talking in English with my classmates and with native speakers. “Nothing
is difficult in the world if you really put your heart to it.” as the Chinese saying goes. If I can build up my
confidence, if I am not afraid of losing face any more, if I really work hard on it, I am sure my oral English will be excellent someday.

                                    Desires Motivate My Oral English Practice
      Living in a "global village", the writer finds it important to practise oral English, and he has paid more
attention to it and is determined to get more chances to practise it.
     I had such an experience of oral English practice. Years ago, I thought that spoken English was of no
use, and I cared little about oral English.
     After I have known something about Oral English Test in Guangdong College Entrance Examination,
I have suddenly daydreamed of being an English major in a famous university. And I have been more
diligent.  I practise my oral English every morning and evening crazily.
      Desires motivate my oral English practice. I realize that hard work creates miracles. All in all, I do
hope I will be successful in my Oral English Test in Guangdong College Entrance Examination in March,
and I will make my dream

　　The elephant stopped eating and said, “My five senses do not rule my attention．Whatever I do, I get immersed in it．Now that I am eating, I am completely absorbed in eating．In this way I can enjoy my food and chew it better．I rule and control my attention, and not the other way around．”

　　Upon hearing these words, a smile appeared on the disciple's face, “I understand! If my five senses are in control of my mind and attention, then my mind is in constant unrest．If I am in charge of my five senses and attention, then my mind becomes calm．”

     The ultimate (最終的) goal of life is to achieve happiness, and the way to achieve happiness is to
wise management. So says The Sims (模擬人生),an American strategic life-simulation computer game
that lets you create, direct, and manage the lives of SimCity's residents.
     Similar to the life of a real person, the game begins with the creation of your simulated(模擬的)people: pick a name and a gender, decide on personality/astrological sign (星座), and then choose a look from a
variety of heads, bodies, and skin tones. Each little Sim person has all basic needs (Hunger, Comfort, Fun, etc.) like a human which can be satisfied by interaction with other Sims or purchased objects. Name,
gender, and appearance don't affect gameplay much, but personality determines how your Sim plays with others.
     One gameplay goal is to improve your Sim and eventually help him or her achieve happiness. With
proper management he or she can climb a career ladder, which nets him or her more money. This allows
the purchase of higher quality stuff, which lets you improve your Sim even more. With suitable care, your
Sim can have a mate, kids, and a mansion with an indoor pool. Mismanage your new, simulated family,
and fights will break out, jobs will be lost, and the house will fall apart.
     With The Sims, you can create whatever and whomever you desire. Triumph or tragedy? You name it. In your real life, it is the same case.

together than separately. So they decided to have one more race. But this time they would work as a team.
They started off, and this time the hare carried the tortoise till the riverbank. There, the tortoise took over and
swam across the river with the hare on his back. On the opposite bank, the hare again carried the tortoise and
they reached the finishing line together, much more quickly than they had been able to alone. They both felt a
greater sense of satisfaction than they'd felt earlier.
