A survey was carried out in our city last month about the air quality along the city roads, which shows that air pollution is rather serious, especially during rush hours．Too many private cars, which have been increasing by 10％ in the last three years, should be one of the main reasons．Meanwhile, all the vehicles move very slowly on the narrow roads, causing large quantities of dirty air．Furthermore, industrial waste gas released from the nearby factories also pollutes the air along the roads．Therefore, it is demanded that more strict measures should be taken to restrict private cars and to develop public transportation to a large extent．
