   From what you said，I know that you are quite worried about your son sticking to his own ways of doing things. In my opinion，this is one of the process of teenages growing up. As time goes on，they will be aware of the disadvantage of their behavior and change themselves gradually. SO long as they are directed properly.
At the same time you should have the idea that being independent can be of great value for children and make the teens mature more quickly. And they can learn something through life itself. Even though they make some errors.
What you should do is direct your son properly so that he can trust you. Meanwhile，have a talk with your son now and then emphsizing the importance of following others’ advice. In a word，try to teach him to learn the world...
