 One possible version:

Now more and more people are willing to volunteer to help others. They think it's our duty to help people in need. Last Friday afternoon,we didn't have any classes,my classmates and I went to the nursing home. There were many old people there. They were happy to see us. We helped them to do some cleaning first and then chatted with them. Some of us sang and danced for them. The old people were very pleased. Although we didn't stay there long,we felt happy because we did something for them!
