Santa Claus (圣誕老人) needed a vacation. He went to Texas because it was a warm and friendly place.

When he arrived there, people began to come around and said, “Look! Isn’t that famous old man?” He thought, “well, I’ll never get any rest if people ask me for their presents.” So he dressed himself up. He bought a pair of cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. “No one will know me now!” he thought happily. When he started walking down the street, people began to come around and said, “Look! It’s Santa Claus.” Santa Claus ran into a corner to hide himself. “They know me because of my long white beard!” So Santa Claus went to a barbershop and had his beard cut off. Then he walked down the street again.

Suddenly a little boy shouted, “It’s him! It’s him! Everybody, look!” Santa Claus was surprised. So he walked up to the boy and said, “How did you recognise (認出) me?” The boy looked at him and said, “I know the deer with the red nose behind you, Rudolph. So you must be Santa Claus.”
