About 90 percent of children aged 9 to 13 said they felt stressed from being too busy,according to a KidsHealth. org survey of 882 kids. And 24 percent said they felt this way all the time.
It's not just the dance lessons and soccer games that make kids have less time to relax. “Even when kids are walking down the street,they receive text messages and phone calls. They can never just be free,” Fox says.
Why are some kids overscheduled?
Fox says some parents hope their children have the soccer skills or flute (長笛) abilities needed to do well in high school and get into a good college.
But Fox says everyone,even grown-ups,needs a bit of ume time?, to avoid being stressed. “There's a Wiwme Pooh (《小熊維尼》) quote where he says, ‘Sometimes I sit and think;sometimes I just sit.
